  • Lesson 1- Knitting History and Tools of the Trade

    This first lesson will include a brief history of this arts and crafts form as well as the tools and term used.
  • Lesson 2- Getting Started

    Very simple first step to get started.
  • Lesson 3- Casting On

    Everything that you knit will begin with the casting on of stitches. Whether you choose later to use a machine, a loom or continue with traditional needles, you will always need to begin with casting on.
  • Lesson 4- Knitting in Two Stitches

    Did you know that everything in knitting is comprised of two basic stitches? It is-the knit stitch and purl stitch. These two stitches, and a few other techniques, make up every piece of knit fabric you see and make.
  • Lesson 5- Knit Stitch

    In this lesson we will learn and practice the Knit Stitch.
  • Lesson 6- Purl Stitch

    In this lesson we will learn and practice the Purl Stitch
  • Lesson 7- Binding Off

    After you feel that you have the hang of knit and purl, you will need to learn to Bind Off. Binding off means that you have finished knitting and are ready to end your piece. No matter what your project, you will use this method to "stop" knitting.
  • Lesson 8- Basic Combinations and Reading Instructions

    Now that you have learned the absolute basics for all knitting stitches, knit and purl, you have many opportunities to combine them for even more stitches.
  • Lesson 9- Other Techniques

    We did not want to leave you without mentioning some other techniques not covered in detail, since this is a basic course. However we'd like to share general information on them.
  • Lesson 10- Putting it All Together

    In this lesson we will focus on putting this all together to complete a knitting project.
  • Lesson 11- Finishing Your Projects

    In this final lesson we will discuss some techniques used to finish a Knitting Project.
